Climate Art

Nachdem der Nerdcore Contest beendet ist geht es weiter mit dem nächsten Special bei ABT.
Diesmal ein Thema von höchster Wichtigkeit, welches wir gerne unterstützen möchten. Den Klimaschutz. Als Partner haben wir uns zusammen mit Climate Art ein nettes Paket für euch ausgedacht.

Aber zunächst ein paar Infos:

Was ist Climate Art?
Climate Art setzt sich für Klimaveränderung und Klimaschutz im doppelten Sinne ein. Zum nachhaltigen Erhalt der Gesellschaft und unserer Natur. Wertschöpfung durch Wertschätzung ist ein zentrales Thema der jungen Organisation und sie setzt sich ein, dieses Thema Einzug in unsere Köpfe halten und unser Handeln bestimmen zu lassen. Kunst & Musik sind die Träger ihrer Botschaft rund um die Themen Verantwortung, Wertschätzung, Ethik und Umwelt. Climate Art fördert weltweit Projekte mit den Schwerpunkten Nachhaltiges Handeln, Umweltschutz und Verbesserung von Lebensbedingungen.

Thema des Contests:
Ethik, Werte und gegenseitige Wertschätzung: Together We Care = Gemeinsam sind wir stark.
Umweltschutz im Einklang mit ethischem Handeln als Maßstab, um sowohl dem Planeten Erde zu helfen als auch die Lebensbedingungen vieler Menschen zu verbessern und dabei Kunst und Musik als Träger der Botschaft einzusetzen. Die Leitsätze „Together We Care“, „Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe“ und „Wertschöpfung durch Wertschätzung“ stehen im Vordergrund.

Natürlich kann auch die Climate Art Skulptur in das Design eingebaut werden. Illustriert versteht sich und nicht als Foto

Keine leichte Aufgabe aber dafür gibt’s diesmal ein ein paar besondere Schmankerl für den Sieger.

Prämien:

- 500€ Preisgeld von ABT und 2000€ von Climate Art.

- Der Sieger wird zu einem Climate Art Event eingeladen und darf obige Skulptur live bemalen. Die Skulptur wird dann versteigert und der Erlös einem genau definierten Projekt gespendet.

Von jedem verkauften Shirt wird zusätzlich von ABT 1€ an wohltätige Zwecke gespendet.

Der Contest startet morgen und läuft 3 Wochen. Einsendeschluß ist der 25.08.2009

yeeees. Michele Boscagli (1979 – 20??) was a 100% Italian illustrator and graphic designer. As one of the most unrecognized figures in 21th-century art, he is best known for making few tshirt design and some other stuff. Boscagli showed a passion and a skill for drawing and messing around from an early age. Theese are still my main interests

And what is the history behind the “Recipe for a jpg cocktail “ design?
… there’s no history. I keep an “unfinished stuffâ€? folder on my pc desktop. There go all frozen ideas, useless sketches, half designs, 2D sick foetus, graphic disappointments and so on. That time I was having my fresh moijto with roman mint while thinking at this contest . Art bastard. A broad subject, too much freedom for me. I took a look at that folder. I saw a light in the chaos. and I suddenly realized how to get useful those abandoned pieces. Shaking em with love.

Where are you now located? Tell us about your current business and projects.
…
I’m located in Padova, Italy. Started as generic illustrator/designer and i experienced in various direction. But in these last six years I always worked for fashion and street clothing companies and t-shirt became my work surface. At the moment I’m working with bands and brands, but i’m new in freelance world so I’m entering design competitions to draw attentions.

Well, what would you suggest to a newbie, who just starting his or her career as a designer?
…Before making money, before having personal site, before following trends or clichés, please, find your stylistic priorities. You need a personality to work on. Probably it will change over the years but you have to start somewhere. So copy, change, cut, paste, mix. ask, read. Test your limits and improve your skills. When you’ll be sick due to overworking, you’ll be allowed to introduce yourself to this world.

Who are your favorite designers and artists around the world? Why?
… Once I fell in love in random order with Andrea Pazienza. with Moebius. with Masamune Shirow, with The Designers Republic, with Chet Zar, with Milton Glaser. And many other artists around the web. When love ends, I keep in my heart all their good lessons.

What do you think about communities these days?
… Very useful for contacts. Honest feedbacks you can’t have with friends and relatives. New work opportunities that fortunately some designers and illustrators still ignore.
But I’m quite lazy and mistrustful towards new friends so my social life is not so active.

Do you work on Mac or PC? Why did you choose this platform?
… I always worked with Mac and liked his friendly style. We are quite friends now.

Do you play videogames?
…Please. it’s a delicate issue. I’m quite old and I’m still trying to quit…

What are your hobbies?
…uh..nothing extreme except sitting in front of the computer for several hours.
Cooking, emulating some great musicians with my band, having words with my girlfriend,
thinking a better world while staring into the void and some saliva drops falls from my open mouth

What is THE place on earth you would like to visit?
… Berlin in this moment. And a random natural paradise.

How many hours do you work, and what is stress for you?
… 8 hours on average. I totally hate me when I lose a design and I have to remake it exactly alike.
This is so stressing for me that I could give up. Or invent all sort of lies to avoid this torture.

… Martyrs, The wrestler, Burn after reading

What’s your favorite sites? Why?
… Cool sites are too much to say and I’d probably forget the better ones. Most used are: youtube cause i usually listen to videos (documentaries,shows,speeches) while working; emptees.com cause there’s a lot o good different individuals; wordreference and google to improve my language skills (and continue concealing my gap with simple sentences and some cut&paste ahah)
