Just a short biography..
Hi, I am Law Kean Hui. I am a designer from Asia country, Malaysia. I am doing multimedia, illustration and tee shirt design works. And what is the history behind your design?
My design’s concept and idea is come from a kid, who imagines that what was in her mind and she probably painted the ideas she got in her mind on a clear white wall. This artwork can represent on tee shirt design. I probably choose the name as ‘That Design We Love’ for this series of tee shirt is because I hope that everyone who own and wear it, can feel the fantasy world and joyous of life. Where are you now located? Tell us about your current business and projects.
I am from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Recently, working in an advertising agency company as a Web Designer. In my opinion, this job is quite challenging to work on it. Is an important working attitude to show to the clients. A good design can satisfied a client and myself is the most challenged part of my job. But I know I can always accept those challenges. Now, I was thinking to have my own branding tee shirt online store in the future coming. Well, what would you suggest to a newbie, who just starting his or her career as a designer?
Not sure, but what I can suggested from my own experience is that need a lot of practices and errors from their ideas and design. Listen to others point of view is also a helpful method for us to improve our design too. These are the ways that most designer should go through, in order for them to gained more experiences for their design and skills. Who are your favorite designers and artists around the world? Why?
The favorite designer or artist that admired the most is Jay Lim from Malaysia. He was a vector art designer and his concept is very impressive. Miss Hua is also one of the character designer that I feel fantastic! And many others designers and artists that I admired the most, but can’t state all here. What do you think about communities these days?
Nowadays, a lot of people like to deal with different type of designs and artworks. We as a designer cannot expect that all of the consumers will prefer on our designs. Do you work on Mac or PC? Why did you choose this platform?
I have a Mac and a PC in my workstation. For me, I will more prefer on using PC for designing. Because in my PC, I have more software which related to my multimedia design. Sometime I will also use my Mac Book to worked on small stuffs, which is light version of vector art and use for online as well. I can say for a designer better choose a Mac which can always get you more impressive idea. Do you play videogames?
Yes. I like to play videogames. Sometimes, when I feel stress and tight on my work, I will spend some time on online games or video games in order to release my stressful mind. After a while of game break, it can make my brain think in a smooth and relax way. It is a quite useful method for anyone who wanted to relax from work. What are your hobbies?
Travel, photography, movie, music and online net surfing. Online net surfing could lead me to have a lot of information, inspired artwork and ideas. What is THE place on earth you would like to visit?
The places that I would like to visit the most are Japan, Hong Kong and Europe country. Because there have a lot of inspired designer and artist artwork that for us to reference on it. Especially the historical places with the story behind, sometimes we can also get the concept and ideas from it. And I hope I could meet the designer or artist around the world, and even listen to their opinion and exchanged knowledge with them. How many hours do you work, and what is stress for you?
I worked about 10-12 hours a day, it was depend on my schedule. I will feel very stress when I faced on the job that I have no idea with, and which can’t find a better solution to do it the way that client wanted. In this case, I will very feel stressful and keep find solution to solve it. Latest movie you liked?
”Fast and Furious 4” What’s your favorite sites? Why?
ABT because it was a lot of nice tee shirt design and FFFOUND have a lot of awesome artwork to look at. Any plans for the future?
My future plan was create more designs and which could share with everyone around the world and exchanged the ideas as well.
